The owner tells me that this guitar was made in 2005 in Korea. It comes with a hard case. I've been looking on ebay, and I've seen these guitars go for less than $200 (sometimes much less) and cases go for as little as $25 on up. There is an ATK with hard case for $300 with free shipping. I know this is a beginner guitar, but I think I might offer $200 and stick to it.

Everything I've read about this guitar is very positive.

Okay, now I've got another questions. What does the SR and DX mean in the model? I've looked on the wiki page for Ibanez, and I've read the Ibanez site (which is not particularly user friendly for this sort of research...), but I can't find anything that will explain what the SR and 300 and DX actually signify.

The SR might mean (soundgear series) but then there is an SR prestige line (just the 400 and 500 series?) Then there is a SRX series... I can't find anything that has "DX" in it.

    Thanks in advance....

That might be a decent price, don't worry about the top fifth string, just use it as a thrumb rest.

Thanks. That's what I thought too, but then my musical purist buddy tells me that that's not how they are designed and everything is different on a five stringer and they're not good to start on. The scale is longer, making ALL the frets further apart, and the strings are spaced closer together. Which is why they are harder to learn on.

Oh well, I have a line on an ATK700 for $350. It looks to be in mint condition. But it does not have a hard case (and only four strings hehehe...) I'm hoping this one won't fall through... What do you think about this price?? I know I'm all over the board here, hopefully I'll actually buy one and then I can start a new thread asking playing questions...

    Congrats.
You'll have to post a pic once it arrives. (or it never happened)
Tell us about it once you thump it a little.
